Benaza

Alvaro Bueno is a talented winemaker from Monterrei, the furthest inland DO of Galcia. Benaza benefits from the cool Atlantic breezes and rocky soils as well as a slightly warmer climate from its neighboring DOs lending to its more powerful structure and riper fruit tones. The Godello is made in a fresh style with no oak, extended lees contact and bottled unfiltered. It is 80% Godello with the rest divided evenly between Doña Blanca and Treixadura. Their red is also an unoaked and unfiltered cuvee made of 80% Mencía, 10% Bastardo, and 10% Arauxa (Tempranillo).
