Founded in 1998, Vina Peralillo is located in the Colchagua Valley of Chile. Because they are on the coastal side of the valley, they benefit greatly from a maritime influence. The vineyards of Peralillo are some of the most well maintained vineyards in the valley and it really shows in the final product as Carmenere requires very careful vineyard management, a specific soil profile, late picking, and minimal irrigation. This strikes the perfect balance between earthy, ripe and complex. Another great value!
From Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: “The 2006 Carmenere Arenal is dark ruby-colored with an alluring bouquet of cedar, spice box, blueberry, and plum. Supple, easy-going, and forward on the palate, this balanced, crowd-pleasing wine can be enjoyed over the next six years.” (Oct. 2008)
