Bagual Garnacha Field Blend (Lot #59)

One of the eleven wines they make from single parcels, Lot 59 is a blend of seven barrels of Garnacha and one barrel of Syrah from the Bagual vineyard in Caliboro in the Maule Valley. The soil in this parcel in the vineyard is alluvial with excellent drainage. The vineyard is farmed by hand and horse; the wine is fermented with native yeasts in open-top fermenters and aged in barrels at least three seasons old for two years.

Tasting Note: Rich and layered red with plum and berries. Layered and juicy with lots of fruit and ripe tannins. Finishes sappy, smooth and extremely long, displaying harmonious tannins and lingering candied lavender

" This is 14.9% alcohol with an incredible pH of 3.08 and 6.38 grams of acidity. As all the single vineyard bottlings, it matured in well-seasoned French oak barrels over two winters. It’s riper and headier, with a little more body from the Syrah. Very tasty and with a long, supple finish. None of these wines shows any oak whatsoever. 2,222 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2015."
