"Monvigliero (with fruit from Verduno) is one of two new wines that are now part of the Gianni Gagliardo portfolio. The 2016 Barolo Monvigliero is made in painfully small quantities, with just 564 bottles on the market today. Apart from its limited availability, the wine stands apart for other reasons. The most important being the general brightness and integrity of the bouquet, which appears with greater intensity here compared to the other wines in this collection. Monvigliero hits the right notes with rose, wild cherry and lilac. The tannins show pretty delineation and firmness."

"This is really perfumed with dried strawberries and flowers, such as fresh roses. It’s full-bodied with very pure fruit and ultra fine tannins. Focused and refined. There’s clarity of fruit to this. Better after 2022."
