"A beautifully layered, fresh and elegant nose is composed by notes of honeysuckle, pear, spice, lavender and a whiff of lemon zest. The suave yet sleek medium-bodied flavors possess a highly sophisticated mouth feel that also characterizes the extract-rich, balanced and harmonious finish. This is a BBM that could be approached young but one that also has everything it needs to age effortlessly."

"There is just a single barrel of the 2016 Bienvenue Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru this year because of the frost. It was showing a lot of reduction on the nose that made it difficult to read. The palate is quite powerful and intense, with subtle tropical tones countered by a razor-sharp thread of acidity, and it gently fans out on the finish with style. This is a fine, almost understated Bienvenue without the pyrotechnics of a great white grand cru Burgundy, yet it is still nuanced and elegant."
