Bourgogne Aligoté Vieilles Vignes

From 85-year-old vines; a high proportion of old selection of golden aligoté contributes a richness and power to this wine, leaving a mineral finish. It is great young—as is typical of the variety—displaying notes of citrus and exotic fruits, but with a few years it evolves more complex aromas of stone fruit and flowers. A year of aging in vats helps to preserve the freshness of the fruit.

"The 2015 Bourgogne Aligoté comes from a selection of 90-year-old Aligoté Dorée vines that sees minimal SO2 and no oak. It has an elegant bouquet, nicely defined with subtle lime flower and frangipane aromas. The palate is fresh and taut on the entry. I appreciate the acidity here and the adherence to what an Aligoté ought to be. This is certainly one of the best examples that I encountered in 2015."
