Cabernet Franc Vin d'Ete
2018 was a tough season to ripen grapes in the Finger Lakes. In midsummer there was rainfall of 10 inches in an hour and the rain kept falling through harvest. There was an abundance of sour rot throughout the region's vineyards. In circumstances that do not allow the production of cellar worthy red wines Kim and Deb make Vin d'ete. Partial carbonic fermentation gives lively fruit flavors, making wines to be consumed young and chilled - "cafe wines". 2018 is 100% Cabernet Franc (Often Gamay is blended in).
