Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Cruz Mountains

A true Bordeaux blend encompassing the top five Bordeaux grapes varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot with small additions of Petit Verdot and Malbec. Aged in 50/50 French  and American oak, 10% of each was new, for 2 years.   The lots are fermented separately using natural fermentations and French oak. Aging this wine to maturity for two years, no fining or filtration is conducted prior to bottling, just like the Estate regimen.

"...bold and pungent in the glass. An explosion of aromatics and fruit that makes a strong opening statement. Savory herb, leather, smoke, tobacco and licorice add shades of nuance to the dark fleshed fruit. The firm tannins need time to soften, but the 2015 is unquestionably a winner. Moreover, from a value perspective, the 2015 is impossible to beat within the context of CA Cabernet Sauvignon. Yields are down a whopping 50%."
