Carignano IGT Toscana
100% Carignan, this bottling is part of the "Monovarietali" project. It comes from the 'Campo al Finocchio' vineyard, planted between 2002-2004 at 250m above sea level, with grey clays and galestro (friable clay/limestone marl). The SW-facing vineyard is isolated, surrounded by trees. Harvest was in late September at yeilds of 50 hl/ha. On all the wines in the monovarietal series, 20-30% of the harvest is fermented whole-cluster. Fermentation is spontaneous in concrete vats. Aging is also in concrete for 9 months. 4,500 bottles produced.
