Champagne Brut Rosé Solessence 7 Villages Extra Brut

45% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir from seven villages: three villages in the Coteaux Sud d'Epernay (Pierry, Moussy, and Epernay); Vallée de la Marne (Mardeuil, Dizy, and Boursault); and from Vertus in the Côte des Blancs. Based on 2015 vintage, with 40% of perpetual reserve wine aged in barrels. The pink color comes from a combination of a short maceration (saignée) Pinot Meunier, combined with the traditional method of blending in still Pinot Noir. The still reds are from Pierry and aged in barrel. Aged on the lees for 18-30 months.

"The NV Solessence Rosé 7 Villages is nervous and finely sculpted, with lovely energy from start to finish. Cranberry, white pepper, mint and crushed rock add to the wine's bright, high-toned profile. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: January, 2018."

"The new release of Jean-Marc Sélèque’s “Solessence” non-vintage Brut Rosé is from the base year of 2014 and includes forty percent reserve wines. The cépages is forty-five percent chardonnay, forty percent pinot meunier and fifteen percent pinot noir, with a dosage of six grams per liter. The new iteration is even finer than last year’s version, offering up a pure and complex bouquet of strawberries, a touch of blood orange, gentle notes of rhubarb, rye toast, chalky soil tones, a bit of clove-like spices and a topnote of rose petals. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and zesty, with excellent depth at the core, bright acids, fine mousse and impressive backend mineral drive on the long, poised and beautifully balanced finish. This is a complex Brut Rosé that is drinking with distinction in its youth, but will also age very well indeed. High class juice! 2017-2035+."

"Bright and mouthwatering, this finely knit rosé offers a satiny mousse, with a chalky underpinning carrying flavors of ripe wild berry, toast, candied lemon zest and smoked almond. Disgorged December 2014. Drink now through 2018. "

"Based on the 2018 vintage and disgorged in January 2021, the latest NV Extra-Brut Solessence Rosé offers up lovely aromas of sweet red berries, anise, bitter orange and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, round and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and a charming, seamless profile, concluding with a sapid finish. This is an especially demonstrative rendition of this cuvée that's showing very well out of the gates."
