Chardonnay Bishop Creek
Nestled in the hills of the Yamhill-Carlton appellation lies Nicolas-Jay’s Bishop Creek Vineyard. Of the 13.5 acres under vine, roughly 2.5 acres are planted to chardonnay and 11 acres planted to Pinot Noir. The majority of the vines at Bishop Creek were planted in 1988 and 1990, and are own-rooted. Adding to the site’s diversity, the elevations range from 270 to 600 feet, with predominantly North-South plantings. All farming is organic since Domaine Nicolas-Jay acquired the site in 2014. The 2019 Chardonnay hails from the top of the vineyard on the 1990's planted vines. Native yeast fermentation, matured in 20% new French Oak.
