Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte

2020
France
Burgundy

From a .16 hectare parcel planted in the mid-1970's. It has a deep clay top soil that is ploughed to push the roots to go down to limestone subsoil. Native yeast fermentation in stainless steel. Aged in French oak barrels for 24 months (approximately 15% new). 30-45 g/L sulfur added at bottling.

"The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet La Boudriotte 1er Cru has a delineated, quite mineral driven bouquet of petrichor/wet limestone and just a touch of flint, accompanied by light orange blossom scents. The palate is very well balanced, taut and fresh, with a fine bead of acidity and one of the most saline finishes among Bachelet’s 2020s. Excellent."

"The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Boudriotte is lovely, wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, sweet stone fruits, freshly baked bread and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with racy acids and a seamless, suave profile, it's one of the most elegant, charming wines in the range."
