65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault. The only difference between the Vieilles Vignes cuvée and the CdP Tradition cuvée is the age of the vines which here reach 100 years old; otherwise, the wines are made in the same exact way: 70% in tank (stainless steel and cement) and 30% in used barrels.

"One surprise to emerge from this blind tasting was the super performance of Chante Cigale's 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape. This full-bodied blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault boasts wonderfully supple, creamy tannins, raspberry and cherry fruit, and a dusting of cinnamon and allspice on the long, dusty finish. Bravo!"

"Vivid ruby-red. Powerful cherry and black raspberry scents are complemented by hints of licorice pastille and potpourri. Broad and fleshy on the palate, offering appealing sweet red and dark berry and spicecake flavors and repeating florality. Tightens up slowly and becomes spicier on the finish, which clings with impressive tenacity and smooth tannins."
