Cheverny Rosé

France
Loire
2022

Pinot/Gamay/Côt. From estate vines averaging thirty years old on clay-limestone soils, sustainably farmed and harvested by hand. The exact proportions of the three varieties change annually; they are vinified separately, with spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in tank. The rosé comes from a combination of direct-press and saignée. The wine goes through malolactic fermentation and is aged in tank.

"François Cazin’s 2022 Cheverny Rosé is crafted from a blend of pinot noir, gamay and côt, with all three varieties fermented separately with indigenous yeasts. The wine is a beautiful salmon color and offers up a refined bouquet of rhubarb, blood orange, chalky soil tones and a floral topnote redolent of peonies. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and gently vinous in style, 10 with an excellent core of fruit, lovely soil undertow, zesty acids and fine focus and grip on the long, complex and well balanced finish. This is very good Rosé. 2023-2028. "
