Cheville de Fer
100% Côt (aka Malbec). The fruit from these 70-year-old Vins Contés vines is vinified just like all of the other reds: whole clusters, carbonic maceration, natural-yeast fermentation, no sulfur, no filtration. But like the Gama Sutra bottling, it is aged for 6 months in used barrels and bottled later in the spring following the harvest. Of all of the Vins Contés wines, this is the most structured and the least vin de soif in style.
