"Established by Finnish couple Josephin & Jarkko Peränen, Candialle is in Panzano's Conca d'Oro. The vineyards are 300-360 metres above sea level, facing south-southwest on mainly galestro soil. Plantings include a portion of bush-trained Sangiovese at densities up to 10,000 vines per hectare. Initial aromas of macerated cherry and toast make way for nuances of star anise, clove and pine. There is plenty of concentration here, but ripeness is kept in check and the whole is lifted by a brightness and minerality.
