Chianti Classico


100% Sangiovese from organically farmed and manually-harvested vineyards with yields at 35 hl/ha. The wine was fermented in open-top stainless steel vats; malolactic took place in barrel. Aged 18 months in 228-350L barrels, 20% of which were new.

Medium-bodied with excellent persistence and depth. Rich on the palate with the classic red fruit notes typical of Sangiovese. This is the flagship wine of the estate.

"Established by Finnish couple Josephin & Jarkko Peränen, Candialle is in Panzano's Conca d'Oro. The vineyards are 300-360 metres above sea level, facing south-southwest on mainly galestro soil. Plantings include a portion of bush-trained Sangiovese at densities up to 10,000 vines per hectare. Initial aromas of macerated cherry and toast make way for nuances of star anise, clove and pine. There is plenty of concentration here, but ripeness is kept in check and the whole is lifted by a brightness and minerality. Drinking Window 2020 - 2030"
