100% old-vine Baga from “Quinta das Cozinheiros,” a vineyard located five miles from the Atlantic coast in Figueira da Foz, north of Lisbon. The 50-year-old vines grow in clay/limestone soils; the vineyard is co-plantated with whites and reds, with Baga being the predominant grape. Partially destemmed, then fermented with native yeasts in 1000L dornas. Aged in old Burgundy barrels for 15 months. Malolactic completed.
