DOCG Montefalco Sagrantino
100% Sagrantino. From biodynamically farmed, certified-organic, hand-harvested estate fruit. The younger vines of about 15 years old go into this traditional Sagrantino (the oldest vines go into the Fracaton bottling). Fermentation occurs with native yeasts and minimal sulfur in closed stainless steel tanks with temperature control; the maceration is about a month. The wine is aged for a minimum of 5 years in old Slavonian oak botti. It is bottled without fining, filtering or the addition of sulfur. 2013 is the most current release.
