Ehrenhausen "Korallenkalk" Sudsteiermark Sauvignon Blanc

Ehrenhausen is one of the main villages where Tement has vineyards. The vineyards in Ehrenhausen are characterized by fertile coralline limestone soil that contains fossilized seashells, called muschelkalk in German. The mineral soil requires a particularly slow and gentle maturation time. After natural fermentation, the wine is aged for 18 months on the lees in big, neutral oak casks and stainless steel tanks. It's bottled unfiltered. Alc. 12.5 % Vol. 1.2 g/l residual sugar - dry. 6.3g acidity.

90 points
"The 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Ehrenhausen Korallenkalk is pure, intense and tangy on the nose that exhibits a ripe and well-concentrated bouquet of stone fruits (mango) with refreshing and spicy phenolic notes. Dense and piquant on the refreshing and structured palate, this elegant, medium-bodied and finely juicy Sauvignon reveals a fine, stimulating grip and good aromatic intensity. This perfectly balanced and charming Ehrenhausen Sauvignon from coral limestone soils was bottled with 12.5% stated alcohol. It is an excellent gastronomic wine with delicate tannins and a charming texture. Sealed with glass stopper. Tasted in December 2021."
