Gamay Noir Barsotti Vineyard
100% Gamay. Grown at high elevation in granite soil, one batch of grapes are picked at the beginning of harvest while a second batch are picked later to develop a unique flavor and structure. Following whole cluster carbonic maceration, grapes are still left on the skins and crushed by foot. Spending 6 months in neutral oak, the wine is bottled on the earlier side in order to develop balance, lightness and a slight acidity. The wine is indicative of the warmer region giving off red fruit and soft herbal tones.
