Heart of Gold
Vermentino and Grenache Blanc from Fenaughty vineyard. Grenache Blanc from GoldBud vineyard. Both Aiken-loam soils.
All grapes were whole-cluster pressed into stainless,and fermentation proceeded without inoculation, and lasted approximately 3 and ½ weeks. Malo went through. The wine remained on its primary lees until mid-December, at which point it was racked clear, and returned to stainless, for bottling in late January of 2021. 168 cs produced.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Pale color. Fresh, nervous nose, of ginger and stone, fresh hay, lime, and modest floral tone. Very lively and fresh on entry, juicy and focused, with considerable textural depth, and richness to
the lengthy finish. In short, a typical Heart Of Gold.
