Pigato Maje Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC
“Maje,” in the Ligurian dialect, refers to the stone terraces in the area.
Sourced from young vines (less than 50 years old) planted in limestone-rich soils mixed with white & blue clay, dense with fossils. The bulk of the grapes come mainly from the hill of Garaxin, above the village of Pogli, 210-260 meters above sea level. South facing vineyards planted on traditional stone walled terraces.
The grapes are destemmed and cold macerated on the skins for 12 hours. Soft pressed and fermented at 18°C. Aged in stainless steel tanks for 5 months on the lees.
