"Good full inky ruby. Piercing aromas and flavors of blueberry, dark plum, minerals and violet. Then bright and juicy, with laser-like acidity and smooth tannins supporting the fresh blue and black fruit and strongly mineral flavors. The finish is long, stony and clean. Very refined and precise Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Spent 15 days on the skins (a little less than the 2015) and aged in concrete and then large used 25-hL oak barrels. Lovely, elegant Montepulciano d’Abruzzo that is the polar opposite of the 2015 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, a much richer, riper (though no less elegant) wine."
