Riesling GG Marienburg Rothenpfad

2020
Germany
Mosel

The Big Red One. The Rothenpfad interestingly is the terminus of the iron- and copper-rich red-colored geological formation that starts in the Saar, pops up at the Ürziger Würzgarten, Erdener Prälat and Enkircher Steffensberg sites in the Middle Mosel, and ends at Pünderich. Clemens’ GG from here, like all wines made from such soil, is pungent and exotic with pronounced ripeness and great staying power. White wine for red meat.

"Dramatic nose with a complex tapestry of dried-herb and wild-berry aromas that already make a very serious statement. Enormously expressive, with a stunning interplay of fruit, spice (cardamon!) and minerality, this is both deep and delightful. The balance spot-on at the very long, tannic yet silky finish. And only 12% alcohol! From biodynamically grown grapes with Respekt certification. Drink or hold."
