"Sandra Bravo’s 2021 Rioja Tinto bottling is crafted entirely from tempranillo grown in her
high altitude vineyards in the Sierra de Toloño Mountains in Rioja Alavesa. The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in older oak casks for eight months prior to bottling. It delivers a very promising aromatic constellation of raspberries, cherries, Rioja spice tones, stony minerality, tobacco leaf, garrigue and a gentle framing of cedar from the older oak barrels. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely structured, with excellent depth at the core, chewy tannins, fine focus and grip and a long, well-balanced and nascently complex finish. This is a fine young bottle of Rioja, but it will need plenty of cellaring time to soften up its backend tannins and start to drink with generosity. 2033-2075+"
