Rosé of Carignan “Poor Ranch”
A blend of 3 Carignan blocks (Billy’s, Coyote Rock, Mitchell Jacks) from the Poor Ranch in Hopland, Mendocino. The oldest block, “Coyote Rock,” was planted in 1943. The Poors are 5th generation farmers and this property has been in their family since the late 1800s. They have never irrigated their vines, and the vineyard is certified organic. Each block is harvested and vinified separately; they de-stem the berries and press off immediately to maintain a pretty color. Natural fermentation with gentle pump-overs, then aged in stainless steel and blended just before canning.
