Serpullo DOC Montefalco Rosso Riserva
60% Sangiovese/20% Sagrantino/10% Cabernet Sauvignon/10% Merlot. From biodynamically farmed, certified-organic, hand-harvested estate fruit. Named for and in honor of a long-time Fongoli vineyard worker, Serpullo is a selection of bunches from a co-planted parcel of the oldest vines (planted in 1975). Fermentation occurs with native yeasts and minimal sulfur in open vat without temperature control and with daily punchdowns. The wine is aged for a minimum of 3 years in old Slavonian oak botti. It is bottled without fining, filtering or the addition of sulfur.
