"The 2016 Vosne Romanee les Hauts de Beaux Monts comes from vines at around 340 meters in a sunny exposure on oolitic soils. It is matured in 25% new oak. It has a lovely, clean and pure red cherry and crushed strawberry-scented bouquet that is nicely defined. The palate is defined by crunchy red fruit on the entry, just a little toughness at the moment but that will soften by the time this pert little Vosne village will be in bottle."

"The supple texture provides a foil for black cherry, black currant and violet flavors in this polished red. Flashes of earth and graphite add depth as this gains focus on the long aftertaste. Best from 2021 through 2035. "

"(Clavelier harvested from September 5 through 11 in both 2015 and 2017; these '15s were bottled in March): Bright medium red. Pungent aromas of raspberry and flowers are fully ripe but not overripe. Sweet and concentrated but with terrific energy and freshness from the site's high altitude, strong mineral underpinning and millerandage-intensified acidity. The pH here is the same low 3.25 as in the 2016 version. Clavelier picked these vines second in 2015, after his Corton. Already boasts lovely sweetness but I'd hold this very long village wine for at least a couple more years."

"A fresh, cool and pretty nose offers up notes of red cherry, raspberry, soft spice and a lovely floral hint. There is excellent richness to the very round and relatively pliant flavors that exude ample minerality on the balanced and saline-inflected finale. This should drink well young."
