The grapes for this wine come from the somewhat younger vines (5-15 years old) that grow in Deutsch Schützen, Eisenberg and Hannersberg. All are planted in deep, iron-rich clay soils. Fermentation is in stainless steel, with 14-17 days maceration; the wine then spends 10 months maturing, partially in stainless steel and partially in large wooden casks.
