Champagne "Extravagance" Brut

France
Champagne
NV

Mostly Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir with 5% Chardonnay from the Marne Valley villages Festigny, Mareuil-le-Port and Leuvrigny. 2017 base vintage with 40% reserve wine made in stainless steel. It’s a great expression of Meunier and Pinot Noir together, red fruits, delicate and spicy at the same time. 8g/L dosage.

"Jean-Yves Pérard “Extravagance” non-vintage Brut is primarily a blend of pinot noir and pinot meunier, with only five percent chardonnay included in the cépages. This release is from the base year of 2017 and includes forty percent reserve wines in the cuvée. It was finished with a dosage of eight grams per liter. The wine is beautifully expressive aromatically, wafting from the glass in a vibrant blend of peach, apple, fine minerality, bread dough, dried flowers and a touch of citrus peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and complex, with fine mineral undertow, pinpoint bubbles, bouncy acids and fine length and grip on the complex finish. This is just starting to drink nicely and has plenty of room to grow with further bottle age. "
