Breuckelen Distilling
- Brooklyn, New York State, United States
Though the fine people at Breuckelen Distilling respect tradition, when it comes to creating craft spirits, they follow their own path. Brad Estabrooke, founder and distiller at Breuckelen Distilling, started his career in finance, but decided that he wanted more out of life; so, he followed his passion and founded his distilling company in 2010. When they sold their first bottles that July, Breuckelen and founded his distilling company in 2010. When they sold their first bottles that July, Breuckelen officially became the first gin distillery in Brooklyn since Prohibition. Estabrooke’s entire operation employs five people, including himself, and runs in a 2,500-square-foot space in the borough’s Sunset Park neighborhood. From the beginning, Brad's goal was to create delicious spirits that are honestly crafted. The still they use is a Coffey-style and was custom-built for the distillery; this type of still is known to produce a softer, sweeter spirit. Over time they have developed recipes based on what they’ve learned tastes best, whether it follows “tradition” or not. This practice has built what we believe are some unique, easy drinking, and delicious spirits. Whether you’re a whiskey aficionado or a classic casual cocktail consumer, Breuckelen Distilling has something special for you.
