Jovanna Briscoe

Jovanna, born and raised on Long Island, has been a lover of good food and beverage since her first job at 17 in her local neighborhood restaurant, The Bellport. However, Jovanna primarily has been an artist, from dancing in NYC to completing her degree in Painting and Political Science from CUNY Hunter College in 2020. Classically trained as an oil painter, she originally moved to Los Angeles in 2021 to potentially pursue an MFA, but found herself back in hospitality to help support her passions along the way. Of course, this lead her down the rabbit-hole that is low-intervention and natural wine, while working at another small neighborhood restaurant, Little Prince in Santa Monica. She quickly was “bit by the wine-bug” and wanted to pursue wine for its diversity in craft, expansive history, and anthropological connections. Following, she went on to co-direct an all California wine program at Isla in Santa Monica, sister to small sustainable seafood restaurant, Crudo e Nudo. That project came to a close in 2023, which led her to decide the next step was to get into sales and distribution to further expand her knowledge and is so excited to be doings so with the incredible team at Bowler!
