The first Aligoté from Jolie-Laide. The fruit for this bottling comes from two sites - Las Cimas, a vineyard on steep sloping hillsides on the western edge of the Russian River Valley, and Siletto, a family-owned organic vineyard in San Benito County. The Aligoté block at Las Cimas sits on a northeast facing slope on sandy clay loam soils, and is heavily affected by the fog and cool pacific winds. Siletto, south of San Francsico in San Benito County, is a rockier south-facing site with more sun exposure. These sites combine to make a bright and energetic Aligoté with a salty, saline quality. The grapes were whole cluster pressed, then fermented and aged in concrete eggs and neutral puncheons.
