Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Feusselottes
France
Burgundy
2023

Planted in 1992 at mid-slope, east-facing, at the eastern outlet of the Combe de Chambolle. Loamy soil with abundant limestone pebbles. The grapes come from three plots within Les Feusselottes: a strip along a limestone fault with very shallow soils and paving-stone-sized blocks; a deeper, clay-rich section with few stones; and another clay-based section scattered with small limestone pebbles. Sorted, 12 to 20-day fermentation and maceration in stainless steel. Fermentation started with an ambient yeast pied de cuve. Aged for 23 months in 120 and 550 L sandstone vessels. SO2 added as needed, typically before racking or bottling, 26 ppm total SO2.
