2023

20% Viognier, 20% Grenache blanc, 20% Clairette, 15% Roussane, 15% Marsanne, 10% Bourboulenc, all from vines averaging about 20 years of age, planted in sandy and clayish slopes with northern exposure. This is a typically Mediterranean climate, with little rain and a strong mistral wind. Hand-harvested, and fermented for 4 to 5 weeks at low temperature. Aged on the lees for 3 to 4 months.

"2023 Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages “Laudun” Blanc- Domaine de la Pélaquié Domaine de la Pélaquié’s 2023 Laudun Blanc is also nicely ripe at fourteen percent alcohol. The cépages here is dramatically different than the regular Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc, as this wine is made from a blend of twenty percent each of Viognier, Clairette and Grenache Blanc, coupled with fifteen percent of Roussanne, fifteen percent of Marsanne and ten percent of Bourboulenc. It is also fermented and raised in stainless steel tank. The wine offers up a lovely and complex bouquet of pear, fresh pineapple, honeysuckle, lemon peel, white soils and a topnote of coriander seed. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and complex, with a fine core of fruit, good soil signature and grip, zesty acids and fine focus on the long and well balanced finish. This is a step up in complexity from the straight Côtes-du-Rhône Blanc and is a fine example."
