The GG Stetten is a full-bodied, full-flavored, gloriously fresh and exciting white wine, unmistakeably grand cru in provenance. Grown in the western part of Franconia where terraced limestone vineyards define the style of Silvaner grown there: racy, savory, firmer and more linear than the clay-and-keuper versions farther east. 100% whole cluster fruit vinified in a mix of concrete eggs, barriques (30% new), and a single 600L barrel. A fertile nose of forest aromas and mossy riverbanks morphs into a chalky, super-mineral wine that somehow--miraculously!--dances across the palate in spite of its richness.
