Young-vine Castelão from “Quinta da Murta,” a vineyard located eight miles from the Atlantic coast in Montejunto region, north of Lisbon. Fermented with native yeasts in 1000L dornas and then pressed to age in old Burgundy barrels for 11 months. Malolactic completed.

From a mix of young and old vines, the Castelão is the most traditional wine  from the area. The fruit is de-stemmed and foot-trodden. Bottled slightly younger than the other reds; aged for 10 months in used barrels.
