Chardonnay Mendocino County

Chardonnay from Mariah Vineyard, an organically farmed site at 2,400 feet in the Mendocino Ridge AVA. Sitting above the fog line, the vineyard is exposed to constant wind and heavily influenced by the nearby Pacific. The steep, dry-farmed slopes yield naturally concentrated fruit, while cool temperatures and ocean breezes preserve bright acidity and impart a subtle salinity. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and settled overnight in stainless steel before being transferred to neutral French oak barrels. The wine aged for 18 months, topped monthly, and was racked off gross lees prior to bottling, unfined and unfiltered with 25 ppm SO₂.
The Timber soil series are shallow, sandstone-derived soils with fractured rock that provide excellent drainage and moderate vine stress.
