"Domaine Raffault’s Chinon Rosé is made from cabernet franc vines that grow on sandy soils near the river. The juice is given ten hours of skin contact to give the wine its delicate salmon color and this is fermented gently to retain freshness and delicacy in the finished wine. The 2022 version offers up a lovely and quite complex bouquet of strawberries, watermelon, a lovely base of soil, a hint of citrus zest and a lovely floral topnote of orange blossoms. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and nicely transparent in style, with a good core, zesty acids and lovely focus and balance on the long, vibrant and complex finish. This is an excellent example of Chinon Rosé! 2023-2028.
