For the previous several vintages, Arianna has been vinifying and bottling 3 contrada-specific Frappatos--Pettineo, Bombolieri and Fossa di Lupo--to demonstrate the distinctions amongst these three different Vittoria terroirs. In 2023, the challenges of the vintage led to the blending of the three contradas into one, this specially labeled "20th Anniversary Blend". As ever, the farming is certified-organic with biodynamic practices. Harvest was by hand. The bunches were mostly destemmed with the berries left whole. Fermentation was spontaneous with native yeasts in 20-hectoliter concrete tanks with a maceration of 2-3 weeks and occasional punchdowns. The wine was aged in concrete for about 22 months and bottled without fining or filtration, with minimal application of sulfur as usual.
