Tenuta Solisciaro Etna Rosso

100% Nerello Mascalese. De Bartoli branched eastward to the north face of Mt. Etna in 2021; the estate name "Solisciaro" is a mash-up that pinpoints its location between the two villages of Solicchiata and Passopisciaro. There are 4 hectares of vines in total. The farming is currently in conversion to organics. This DOC Etna Rosso comes from two vineyards. One contains 85-year-old vines, the other 20-year-old vines, all alberello-trained and planted on sandy volcanic soils at 700-750 meters in altitude. The bunches are harvested by hand, gently pressed and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel with temperature control. The wine is aged for 10 months, with 70% of it in in steel and 30% in chestnut barrels. Production is approximately 6000 bottles.
