Serea, meaning “Mermaid” in Gallego, is 100% hand-harvested Albariño from ten- to fifteen-year-old organic vines near the coast. Fermented and aged in stainless steel for three months.
From 30 year old vines planted on grantic slopes ten miles from the Atlantic ocean in Pontevedra. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel with full malolactic fermentation, aged on the lees for 12 to 18 months in vats.
95% Albariño and 5% of Treixadura from a single plot, “As Penelas” from schist soils. It is an Albariño from inland Galicia, far from the influence of the sea, resulting in a much more mature and complex wine than an Albariño from Rías Baixas.
Co-planted with Tempranillo, 650 meters high in the mountains of Toloño, this Viura becomes a very energetic wine, with salty, and citrus notes. It is made in tank, with 10% going into used French wood. Bottled without going through malolactic to balance Viura's natural, more giving, texture.
