"The 2024 Clarete “Los Topes” from Tierra Fundida is the lightest example of Clarete that I have ever encountered, as the wine’s very, very pale copper color would barely pass for a Rosado, let alone a light red wine! The wine is made from a combination of Vijariego Negro and the white grape of Gual, which is given some extended skin contact during fermentation. The wine is raised in amphorae and offers up a bright and complex bouquet of breadfruit, a hint of peach, salty minerality, dried flowers, ocean breeze and a touch of amphora influence. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and complex, with a good core, fine soil undertow, sound acids and good length and grip on the well balanced finish. This is really quite tasty. 2026-2036."
