IGT Toscano Bianco "Le Ragazze"
50% Vermentino/50% Malvasia. The fruit is from 25-to-50-year-old, organically farmed vines on sandy volcanic soils in the hilly Monte Amiata zone a few miles south of the town of Montalcino. The bunches are harvested by hand, destemmed, gently presssed and fermented spontaneously without sulfur in open vat with a 30-day maceration. The wine is aged in a mix of tonneau, acacia barrique, terracotta and steel. It is bottled unfiltered. "Le Ragazze" are the young daughters of Fonterenza vignaiola Margherita Padovani', one of whom did the label art.
