Chablis "Terroir de Courgis"

France
Burgundy
2024

Courgis is from a single vineyard planted in 1937 on the left bank with clay topsoil on top of Kimmeridgian limestone bedrock. It’s typically the most weighty (think ripe, juicy pit fruit) of the Terroir wines. Fermented and aged in tank and 20% barrels.

"Harvested from September 27 to 29, the 2024 Chablis Terroir de Courgis opens in the glass with aromas of nashi pear and lemon peel, mingled with scents of ocean breeze. Medium- to full-bodied, with a taut musculature informed by the growing season, it is deep and lively, underpinned by racy acids and concluding in a saline finish. Its slightly richer profile, explained by a higher proportion of clay, sets it apart from Terroir de Fleys."
