Gamay Sonoma County

United States
California
2025

The 2025 Gamay bottling is composed of fruit from two Sonoma County sites. The first lies on the northern side of the county, where the vines are northeast-facing and planted in Franciscan soils layered with quartz and schist. The second vineyard is located on the western side of the Fountaingrove AVA, a small sub-AVA south of Chalk Hill, where the vines grow in well-drained, iron-rich volcanic soils. After harvest, fermentation began with whole-cluster carbonic maceration, followed by foot-crushing to complete fermentation in open-top tanks, achieving a balance of vibrant fruit aromatics, depth, and structure. The wine was then pressed to neutral barrique and aged for six months before bottling.
