Pergolas Criollas Blancas

Argentina
San Juan
2023

A blend of White Criolla varietals from tiny family vineyards in Barreal and Hilario in San Juan, Argentina, at very high altitudes (4900ft - 5700ft). Vines are planted in alluvial soils and range in age from 50-100 years old. Grapes are hand harvested, destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts. Aged for seven months in concrete tanks, neutral oak barrels, and 50 liter demijohns on the lees. Unfined, unfiltered.

"This is from a selection of vineyards in the Paraje Hilario area, in the center of the Calingasta Valley, but also from other pergolas throughout the San Juan Valley. The main variety is torrontés (those from San Juan are less exuberant than those from Rioja) and gives slight touches of flowers in a juicy wine with lots of ripe white fruit, firm texture, and vibrant acidity."
