Amore Rosso is a blend of Italian varieties (40% Barbera, 40% Dolcetto, 14% Montepulciano, 6% Sangiovese) from Broc Cellars’ Fox Hill Vineyard in Mendocino. Fox Hill is a CCOF-certified organic vineyard owned and farmed by Broc Cellars, located on Mendocino’s Talmage Bench, an uplifted former riverbed of the Russian River. The soils are a mixture of gravely clay loam with rocky, pebbly sandstone and quartz. The Barbera are Dolcetto were cofermented and make the majority of the blend, complemented by destemmed Montepulciano and Sangiovese, fermented in stainless steel tank, and aged in neutral French oak barrique for 10 months before bottling, unfined and unfiltered. Amore Rosso is a delicious table wine, capturing the feel of an old school classic field blend. 12% abv.
