"The 2020 Ampeleia, 100% Cabernet Franc, is one of the most beautiful, riveting wines I have tasted at Ampeleia. It's rich and resonant in the glass with tons of textural richness. Black cherry, mocha, new leather, pomegranate and dried flowers race across the palate. I would give the 2020 a few more years in bottle. It remains a very young, substantial wine. The 2020 spent 40 days on the skins with submerged cap maceration, an approach that works so well here. The only drawback is that the wine needs time to be at its most expressive. Magnificent."
