"Offers ripe apple and quince aromas with an edge of spice and a bit of flinty minerality. Benoît Bachelet insists the name comes from this being a dense, 'chewy' wine ('avec de la mâche'), while it is substantial, it is definitely not heavy, and there is vivacious energy to the wine that is delightful. This wine will open fully in three to five years and drink well over the ensuing decade."

"Mid lemon yellow. A little more warmth and substance compared to the village wine. White and yellow fruit, good acidity holds the tension, not the most character in the cellar. "
